Águeda

The Águeda Songbook Museum occupies a manor house built in the 18th century.
In this museum, the entire collection and heritage of the Cancioneiro de Águeda is on display, portrayed in scenes from a family, festive or work environment.

The Manuel Alegre Library presents itself as a space for everyone, providing a quality service that covers a large number of citizens.

The Águeda Mother Church has Saint Eulália as its patron saint (she was considered one of the greatest martyrs of the first three centuries of our era). For the inhabitants of Águeda, this building is one of the oldest monuments in the city. It played a very important role, as it was around it that the population cluster began. Its construction is not known for sure when it began, as documentation only begins to appear from the year 1320, during the reign of D. Dinis.

The São Sebastião Chapel is located in the traditional Venda Nova neighborhood.
Saint Sebastian is a very popular figure, although his story and martyrdom enjoy little critical testimony.

The existence of this space as a leisure park is due to the entrepreneurial spirit of Dr. Eduardo Caldeira who, in the second half of the 19th century, transformed a small, bare plateau, located in the center of Águeda, into a majestic "oasis" populated with rare trees. and exotic and beautiful gardens with leisure equipment.

The Cabeço do Vouga Archaeological Station, located in Lamas do Vouga, covers two ridges, located between the Vouga River and the Marnel River. Its excellent geographical location meant that this place remained populated until the Middle Ages.

The Church, considered a National Monument, is located in the Parish of Trofa and was built in the 16th century. Its notoriety comes from the Renaissance sculptural ensemble in the main chapel, which houses an important tomb sculptural ensemble, the "Panteão dos Lemos", composed of statuary and bas-reliefs.
